Job Overview
Bridge Energy Group is in need of 1 or 2 Senior Java Developers who can hit the ground running. This person will work across multiple projects which would include providing break fix type work on MRTU, new development on capital projects and serve as a liaison on vendor related initiative were CAISO does not have any staff representation.

Ideal Team Lead Java Developer should have a minimum of ten years experience in software development field with extensive experience programming server side J2EE , Web Services, Oracle PL/SQL. Candidate should have a track record working on large software development, systems implementation, and systems integration projects. Must be able to establish and provide direction and raise the bar for his team in these key areas: (black belt experts).

Scope of Work:
• Work across multiple project performing tasks such a break fix on MRTU, Work on new capital type initiatives, vendor related initiatives.
• Participation in detailed reviews
• Communication of deliverable status, technical issues, and results
• Client facing position – Work with customers to understand and problem solve.

Responsibilities:
• Demonstrating delivery of high quality readable code with high unit test coverage and low cyclomatic complexity.
• Regular refactoring to enhance the design and lower technical debt.
• Performing and participating in peer code reviews.
• Automating most manual tasks.
• Efficiently documenting high level design.
• Self direction on assigned work.
• Working closely with customers and end user to clarify requirements.
• Working closely with QA testing resources to ensure the product meets expectations. This may include developing tools or interfaces to make testing the product easier.
• Aid in deployment and packaging of production applications.
• Troubleshoot production issues.
• Staying abreast of new technologies and suggesting new approaches to business problems.
Skills:
• Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE.
• Experience implementing SOA solutions including SOAP and REST based approaches. (Sonic ESB/MQ)
• Current experience and proponent of the following development practices:
o Using Source Control Systems (Perforce)
o Automated Builds (ant, maven)
o Continuous Integration (Hudson)
o Test Driven Development (TDD)
o Automated Acceptance Testing (Fitnesse, Selenium)
o Code reviews
• Experience with design techniques such as Domain-Driven Design, Design by Contract, and Domain Specific Languages.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP)
• Development technologies:
o Java frameworks (Hibernate, Spring, EJB3, JSF, Tapestry, Groovy/Grails a plus)
o Application Servers (JBoss, Glassfish)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Level of Education
A Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) or equivalent education, training and experience
Discipline
Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Amount of Experience
Five or more years related experience.
Type of Experience
IT applications Experience in IT applications development, design, and analysis and data modeling. Thorough knowledge of computing concepts, hardware, software, systems and networking; Java, GRAILS, Groovy, JQuerry, J2EE, PLSQL, and UNIX experience.
Special Certifications of Technical Skills
MCSDBA, MCSD, and/or MCSE helpful. Experience with any of the following helpful: Oracle tools, NT, ODBC, Remedy Helpdesk.
Other
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment as facilitator and team member. Strong communication and analytical skills required.
